Everything is a pitch in the business world. Whether you are pitching yourself or your idea in a networking event, looking for a business partner, or pitching your design projects to a client, you must deliver a memorable message - a story that is concise and compelling that illustrates the strength of your ideas, your expertise, and your passion for the project. Join SMPS and Melissa Murphy, Founder and Chief Communication Coach of The Pitch Academy, for a workshop to discover the power of storytelling to win more work as AEC business developers and marketers.
No matter the number of floors in the elevator or precious minutes you have with that important person, this talk will teach you the art and science of persuasive communication, which will help you sell yourself and your projects masterfully and authentically with results. Learn to tailor your story to your audience’s eyes, ears and expectations, so you have winning content, delivery, and visual aids - that out-pitches the competition every single time.
• Learn the importance of storytelling and the positive impact it has on audiences.
• Understand the elements of narrative and how they fit together to create stories to win more work.
• Understand how verbal and non-verbal delivery can demonstrate confidence, energy, and passion for winning over the hearts of audiences and the wallets of clients.
• Combat communication apprehension and channel your nervous energy in a positive way.
• Demonstrate and balance analytical, expertise and emotional appeals when speaking.
